🛒 Ingredients
As shown in image_70fd5f.jpg:
4 bone-in pork chops
2 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp Dijon mustard
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp minced garlic
1 tbsp olive oil
👩🍳 Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Whisk the Glaze:
In a small bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and minced garlic until the sugar has mostly dissolved.
Step 2: Marinate (Optional but Recommended)
Pat the pork chops completely dry with a paper towel. Coat the chops evenly with the prepared glaze. If you have time, let them marinate in the refrigerator for 15–30 minutes to absorb the flavors.
Step 3: Sear to Caramelize
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet (cast iron works beautifully here) over medium-high heat.
Add the pork chops to the skillet. Sear for about 4–5 minutes on the first side without moving them, allowing the brown sugar glaze to form a deeply caramelized, golden-brown crust.
Flip the chops, pour any remaining glaze from the bowl over the top, and cook for another 4–5 minutes.
Step 4: Rest and Serve
Reduce the heat to low if the chops need an extra minute or two to cook through (the internal temperature should reach $145^\circ\text{F}$ or $63^\circ\text{C}$). Remove the chops from the skillet and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving to keep them incredibly juicy. Spoon the pan juices over the top right before serving!
💡 Recipe Tips
Don’t Crowd the Pan: If your skillet isn’t large enough to fit all 4 chops comfortably, cook them in batches so they sear beautifully instead of steaming.
Watch the Heat: Because of the brown sugar, the glaze can burn if the pan gets too hot. Keep a close eye on it and lower the heat slightly if it darkens too quickly.
